Drew's Dynamite Wings

My husband Drew walked into the kitchen one day and concocted this fabulous marinade on the spur of the moment. Do not substitute dried herbs for the fresh rosemary and basil.

Marinade
3 large garlic cloves, chopped
1/2 cup olive oil
3 1/2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
4 tablespoons Durkee Red Hot sauce
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) Canadian whisky
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves

2 1/2 pounds wings, trimmed and separated

Mix marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Add wings, stir, and marinate for 2 hours at room temperature, or up to 6 hours, covered, in the refrigerator. Drain and reserve marinade.

Prepare the barbecue or preheat broiler. Place wings on the grill and cook, turning frequently, basting with marinade until golden brown and cooked through, about 10 to 15 minutes. Transfer to a platter and serve.

Makes 2 to 4
